TF-CBT

Sara Lynn became nationally certified as a TFCBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) provider after a year long learning collaborative with Ambit Network through the University of Minnesota. TFCBT is an evidence based, structured model of therapy that addresses the long lasting effects of experiencing trauma.

Trauma is defined loosely as an outside event that has overwhelmed one's ability to cope (eg: domestic violence, sexual abuse, medical emergency, bullying, car accident, natural disaster, housefire).

In the TFCBT  model, a child/adolescent (under age 18) and caregiver (supportive adult) work together as a team to develop an understanding of the ways in which trauma is impacting themselves and each other, and build a skill set to address these effects collaboratively. It is a highly effective model of treatment for a child/adolescent who is living the effects of experiencing trauma.

EMDR

Sara Lynn obtained training in EMDR in 2022, and completed training in the Flash technique in 2023.

EMDR is a psychotherapy that works with the brain's natural processing systems that have become blocked by traumatic experiences.

EMDR Flash technique involves extremely brief exposures to traumatic memories, working with subliminal processing that results in fast results without stimulating the conscious defenses.
